Home Care Services: Current Challenges and New Perspectives in Personal Care
Main Article Content
Building on the current social context, this article explores several limitations in the structure of the Home Care Service (SAD) and the challenges it currently faces. It examines the conceptual transformation of care and its gradual deinstitutionalisation, driven by recent European and national strategies. The main challenges identified include improving coordination between social and healthcare services, increasing flexibility within the organisational model of the SAD, enhancing working conditions, and securing greater professional recognition for care workers. The article also touches on key issues related to the management form of the service in question. To illustrate these aspects, the study draws on innovative experiences such as the SAD model developed within Barcelona’s superilles socials (social superblocks).
