Abstract

Public Authorities are required by the Constitution and legislation to protect the rational use of natural resources, to improve our quality of life and to restore the environment. The Criminal Code typifies several criminal offenses that punish civil servants and public authorities which intentionally carry out some actions or omissions when they monitor activities that could be harmful to the environment. This article pursues to briefly analyze these criminal offences from the standpoint of a public prosecutor who is in charge of its criminal persecution.
