Regímenes locales de bienestar: rasgos principales y algunos efectos

Abstract

This article analyses the concept of “local welfare regimes” as an analytical tool for studying the role of local governments in the provision of services from a comparative perspective. The article shows some elements that categorize the basic dimensions of this concept and gives some indicators for its measuring. The aim of the article is to relate all these elements and indicators in order to have a better understanding of the local welfare regimes from a comparative perspective and to study empirically some of their consequences. Finally, the article aims to guide the policies and reforms of local governments.
