El derecho a la ciudad

José Manuel Bandrés Sánchez-Cruzat
Abstract

The right to a city is being recognized as an emerging human right to all its citizens and its aim is to strength the status of the citizenship. The city constitutes a political community that is integrated by free and equal citizens, which aspire to develop their collective life all together, fraternally and with solidarity. The European Charter for the Safeguarding of Human Rights in the City and the Global-Charter Agenda for Human Rights in the City are tools for recognizing and implementing inclusive public policies aimed to guarantee democratic coexistence between citizens of a city according to human dignity.
