The suppression and merger of municipalities

Abstract

This article analyzes the new legal framework of suppression and merger of municipalities. This is a prominent aspect of the recent local reform which its implementation has been complex from the perspective of State and Autonomous Communities legal systems and the compatibility with the recognized special legal statute of some local governments.
