The Spanish Supreme Court’s case law on local law

José Manuel Bandrés Sánchez-Cruzat
Abstract

Globalization and the digital revolution have modified the ways and modes of action of local authorities, which must assume new skills to respond efficiently to the requirements and demands of citizens. The new cassation appeal implemented after the entry into force of Organic Law 7/2015, constitutes a useful procedural mechanism for the uniform interpretation of local law, although the system must be perfected to fulfill the interpretative function without neglecting the ius litigatoris.
