Abstract

The aim of this paper is to study the possible role of smart communities in achieving a balanced distribution of the population. Specifi cally, this work analyzes, after a brief introduction to the phenomena of urbanization and depopulation, the possible instruments of inter-administrative collaboration and planning that could be used, in general, in the fi ght against depopulation, in order to delve into the study of smart communities, as an example of smart planning useful in achieving this goal.
