Sustainable tourism and its derivations

Abstract

Tourism has both positive and negative consequences for the territory. The efforts must be focused on sustainable tourism to minimize the negative impact of tourism. In this regard, the management of tourism should take into account the environment in the broad sense (culture, nature, tangible heritage…) and, therefore, it should launch actions that provoke positive impacts from the economic and social perspectives. All the actors –public administrations, enterprises and citizens– must be involved in the decision-making processes.
