Local governments in the context of the process of decarbonization of urban mobility

Abstract

Local governments face the challenge of promoting their competences in terms of mobility to enable the development of more sustainable, decarbonized and socially equitable urban movements. This study offers a guide of the current regulatory process on the path of decarbonization and climate neutrality of emissions associated with urban mobility, with special emphasis on the possibilities that it can represent, for the municipal reality, the approval of the future state law on sustainable mobility.
